Dear 2008 Emerging Trends Seminar Attendees,

Thank you for attending the 2008 Allen Press Emerging Trends in Scholarly Publishing™ Seminar.  We were happy to see new faces and many returning attendees.   People came from as far away as Sweden, Japan, Seattle, and Houston.  Our experience has taught us, bringing together professionals in scholarly publishing is a worthwhile endeavor. 

This year’s presentations, photos, and a list of attendees can be found on this website including a video of the keynote address by John Graham.  Several of the seminar topics will also be recapped in the next issue of Allen Press’ newsletter FrontMatter, coming in June. 

The feedback about the 2008 seminar was overwhelmingly positive and we greatly appreciate your taking the time to fill out the survey.  Your comments and suggestions will help us plan successful seminars in the future.  Allen Press will continue delivering programs that contribute to discussions and debates that are ongoing within our industry in our future seminars. 

The 2009 Allen Press Emerging Trends in Scholarly Publishing Seminar will again be held at the National Press Club.  Please mark your calendars for April 2, 2009.

Also, don’t miss the 2008 Allen Press Best Practices Seminar, October 1-3,  at the historic Eldridge Hotel in Lawrence, KS.  This annual seminar offers practical workflow applications related to the day-to-day activities in the editorial and society office.  More information will be sent to you soon.
